Job Description:

Louisiana State University at Eunice (LSUE) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as the Dean of Business Technology and Health Sciences within the Division of Arts & Sciences. This leadership position involves overseeing the daily operations of the Division, supervising personnel, and managing business and administrative services. The Dean will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of academic programs and supporting the Division's strategic goals, all within the mission of providing high-value, accessible higher education and advanced training in a supportive environment.

Job Responsibilities:

20% Assume leadership in the development of the programs of the division and coordinate and integrate the activities of the division.
Promote excellence in teaching, research and scholarship, student services, and related activities of the division.
Perform such duties as are required to increase the effectiveness and significance of the division to enhance the prestige of the University

20% Formulate and administer policies for the division. Prepare and execute the budget of the division. Forward recommendations to the Chancellor through the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs concerning actions relating to all personnel in the division (with approval or disapproval) together with a statement of reasons, when appropriate. Serve as communications officer for all official business within the division and with other University authorities.

15% Prepare class schedules and assign faculty members' teaching schedules.
Recommend changes in courses and curricula which originate with the faculty within the division. Oversee the registration and progress of students in the
division and act for the faculty (after appropriate consultation) in approving
exceptions or substitutions on students' degree programs.

10% Certify compliance of individual students with requirements for graduation, after receiving the recommendation of the divisional faculty. Consider appeals by students according to established procedures. Assume responsibility for
appropriate academic advising for the division. Insure that division course
offerings and curricula are accurately reflected in the University catalog.
10% Serve as a member of the Academic Council. Appoint such committees from the division as necessary or desirable. Assume general supervisory responsibility for employees within the division. Coordinate the recruitment of new employees and advertise vacancies appropriately, consistent with University's policies.

10% Recommend all appointments, promotions, dismissals, leaves, salaries, salary adjustments, and all other personnel actions relating to the divisional staff. Call and preside over meetings of the division. Assign specific duties to members in the division, and define the members' overall responsibility to the University.

10% Implement, with approval, such policies and take such actions as is necessary to assure the personal safety of other members of the campus community. Annually review the performance of personnel under the supervision of the dean.

5% Serve as custodian of all University property located in the facilities of the
division.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree. The degree must be earned from an accredited institution in a discipline within the business technologies, public protection and safeties, or nursing/allied health.

Specific Experience: Record of progressively responsible experience that includes teaching and educational supervisory experience at the post-secondary level; proven commitment to quality instruction, innovative learning
strategies, and learning outcomes assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. The degree must be earned from an accredited institution in a discipline within the business technologies, public protection and safeties, or nursing/allied health.

3-5 years of administrative experience

Specific Experience:

Record of progressively responsible experience that includes teaching and educational supervisory experience at the post-secondary level; proven commitment to quality instruction, innovative learning strategies, and learning outcomes assessment

Salary: $80,000.00-$95,000.00
