About the Position:
Under the administrative direction of the Mental Health Director, supervises the Mental Health Division of the Health Services Agency. Serves as the Division Director during the Mental Health Director's absence. Coordinates public relations efforts; develops funding resources and manages the division budget. Performs related administrative and professional work as required.

Examples of Duties
- Manages and directs the daily activities of the Division through appropriate delegation, managerial support, and work supervision.
- Assesses County mental health service needs; plans, implements and supervises mental health services and programs to meet such needs; in cooperation with other division directors coordinates integrated services among all divisions.
- Monitors operations and procedures; evaluates division and program issues, and recommends and implements solutions.
- Assists in establishing agency goals, policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations; evaluates new laws and their potential impact on the County.
- Supervises, advises, consults with and evaluates the work of Mental Health Division supervisory personnel and contract employees to ensure effective division operations and quality client services and care.
Education, Experience & Licenses
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Master's degree in social work or related field.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a mental health setting including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Requires a valid California driver's license.
- Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist or a Licensed Clinical Psychologist;
- Must complete periodic continuing education coursework as required to maintain active licensure.
- Must possess, or be willing to obtain, a national provider identifier (NPI).

SALARY:
- Annual salary step increases based upon satisfactory performance and completion of one year of employment (Step A to E).
HEALTH:
- Approximately 80% of the premium for medical, dental, and vision plan is paid by the County (EPO Plan). The plan covers the employee and all eligible dependents at NO ADDITIONAL COST!
- Employee premiums are $234.54 per month as of January 1, 2025 for employee and all eligible dependents.
PAID LEAVES:
- Benefits also include an annual paid leave plan of
- 96 hours of vacation (increases upon continuous years of service)
- 96 hours of sick leave
- 40 hours of Management Leave per year
- 14 paid holidays plus one 8 hour personal holiday
