Responsibilities

Peraton's Space & Intelligence Sector is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Herndon, VA. As a key member of our cross-functional Agile Scrum Team, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining applications running in Kubernetes, creating and managing systems documentation, and collaborating with the Information Assurance team to ensure the integrity of security-related documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software/system design and architecture, systems documentation, and scripting/enterprise software development. The role requires a commitment to security and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and manage applications deployed in Kubernetes.
  • Create, update, and maintain comprehensive systems documentation.
  • Work with the Information Assurance team to ensure compliance with security standards and maintain security-related documentation.
  • Contribute to the software/system design and architecture process.
  • Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team to deliver high-quality solutions.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in software/system design and architecture.
  • At least 3+ years of experience maintaining systems documentation.
  • 3+ years of experience with scripting or enterprise software development.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a Poly.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Security+ or equivalent certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift or another variant).
  • Experience with NiFi.
  • Experience with requirements management.
  • Experience working with cross-domain systems.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
