JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to implement and manage comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions while ensuring technical integrity across complex systems. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, assessing, and managing system architectures, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting critical certification and accreditation processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in system engineering, risk management, interface control, and technical direction for hardware/software system integration.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Implement comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions and ensure compliance with applicable DoDAF standards.
  • Develop operational, technical standards, and system/service views for system architectures, ensuring alignment with system requirements and goals.
  • Review and approve system engineering documentation to ensure processes and specifications are comprehensive, accurate, and aligned with system needs.
  • Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format and store the data in a centralized, accessible repository.
  • ssess and manage program risks, evaluating the probability and quantified consequence of failure in accordance with an approved risk management plan.
  • Plan and oversee verification efforts for new and unproven designs, ensuring early alignment with established requirements.
  • Prepare timeline analysis diagrams to visualize the flow of time-dependent functions and ensure system functionality.
  • Manage the process for controlling and managing changes to requirements, ensuring impacts are assessed, ambiguity is eliminated, and traceability to source requirements is maintained.
  • Oversee the technical integrity of the system baseline over time, ensuring proper updates as the system evolves through development, deployment, and operations & maintenance.
  • Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process, as well as other Government Certification and Accreditation processes.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documents, including Initial Capability Documents and Capabilities Description Documents.
  • Provide technical direction for system development, engineering, integration, and testing, including requirements analysis, functional allocation, and system architecture design.
  • Develop operational concepts and scenarios (threads) that describe the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, ensuring satisfaction of operational, support, and maintenance needs.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis on non-functional system performance areas like reliability, maintainability, vulnerability, and survivability.
  • Coordinate system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring comprehensive interface coverage.

WHAT REQUIRED SKILLS YOU'LL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field.
  • 1 4+ years of experience with system engineering documentation, interface control, and risk management.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing SOA solutions, particularly in complex, large-scale systems.
  • Strong background in the technical direction of complex hardware/software systems, including integration, testing, and verification.
  • Expertise in managing system baselines, analyzing non-functional performance, and assessing risk to programs.
  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix command line and experience with Jupyter Notebook.
  • Familiarity with JSON, XML, and related data formats.
  • Experience with Splunk architecture, including managing metrics, dashboards, and data ingestion across systems.
  • Experience leading agile development teams, transitioning user needs into prototypes, and coordinating briefings and demonstrations.
  • Proficient with Confluence, Jira, and MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel).

WHAT PREFERRED SKILLS YOU'LL BRING
  • Experience with Apache NiFi for data integration and processing.
  • dvanced knowledge of ELK Stack for log management and analysis.
  • Familiarity with ReST calls to enterprise data repositories.
MINIMUM CLEARANCE REQUIRED
  • Must possess an Active TS/SCI FS Poly Clearance

COMPENSATION
  • Salary Range: $150,000 + (depending on experience and education)
