Responsibilities
- Strategic IT Planning & Development:
- Collaborate with the management team to define and execute the IT strategy in alignment with the company's objectives and growth in the construction industry.
- Lead the implementation of digital tools, software, and technologies for the business
- Drive innovation in the adoption of emerging technologies in construction
- IT Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all hardware, software, and networks.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of IT systems, ensuring data integrity and backup procedures are in place.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and software solutions, ensuring scalability and accessibility for remote teams on construction sites.
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management:
- Implement and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive company data.
- Regularly conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to prevent cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to IT security and data protection.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor the IT department, providing guidance, training, and career development opportunities for the team.
- Manage IT projects, from budgeting and timeline management to stakeholder communication.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify IT solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Vendor Management & Budgeting:
- Oversee relationships with external IT service providers, contractors, and software vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, monitor service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure cost-effective procurement of IT services and equipment.
- Manage IT department budget and allocate resources efficiently.
- Support for Field Operations:
- Ensure the availability of mobile and remote technology for teams working on construction sites (laptops, tablets, software applications, connectivity tools).
- Provide troubleshooting and support for construction teams, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing projects.
Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- 5+ years of IT management experience, preferably within the construction, engineering, or related industries.
- Hands-on experience with construction-related software (Viewpoint Vista, HCSS) and systems.
- Proven experience in managing IT projects, systems integration, and process improvements.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and security protocols.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Ability to travel to other worksites and adapt to the dynamic needs of a construction environment.
- Availability for on-call support outside regular office hours for emergency IT issues.
