DUTIES
- Design and facilitate comprehensive IT training programs for all City employees; support staff by providing the proper training to utilize the latest technology resources.
- Oversee the technology training program and training budget; provide recommendations for future programing needs.
- Increase IT software and programs return on investment through employee knowledge and skill development and optimized system functionality.
- Research, create, and maintain training materials; provide annual training plans including training learning objectives and goals.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies that track training activities; implement selected technology and oversee system maintenance.
- Research, evaluate, and partner with external training services to provide instruction in areas requiring unique skills and knowledge and/ or is more efficiently delivered.
- Monitor IT professional development; provide completed training data and recommendations to appropriate staff leadership to enhance staff development.
- Determine, develop, implement, and monitor a new employee orientation program including customized training for new and/or returning employees.
- Coordinate training programs to specific needs of departments and positions; collaborate with department leaders to assess instructional effectiveness and track impact of training on employee skills and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Gather feedback on facilitated training(s); evaluate, identify, recommend, and implement program improvement opportunities.
- Analyze and determine employee skills gaps through skills assessments and monitoring of program usage; use assessment to implement appropriate training methods to bridge skill gaps and increase learning retention.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Training, Organizational Development, or related field; and,
- Two (2) years' experience in education, training, or related field,

- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

- Must have and maintain a valid Class "C" Driver's License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)
- Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check and social security number verification.
- Must attend and successfully complete the City's Defensive Driving Course (DDC) as soon as possible after employment (if required to drive City vehicle or personal vehicle for City business).
- Must meet civilian hiring standards of the Denton Police Department.

- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
