Definition
Under close supervision, a Management Aide - NR performs a combination of clerical and technical, and low-level analytical duties in support of administrative staff, functions, and activities.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the entry level in the Management Analyst, Financial Analyst, and Human Resources Analyst series. Incumbents work under close supervision in support of higher level analytical staff, are delegated analytical assignments which are narrow in scope, involve easily definable issues, have limited impact, and involve restricted and limited alternatives of a routine nature. Work assignments are subject to detailed and frequent review.
Positions may be assigned to one activity or may be assigned responsibility for a wide variety of activities. Areas of assignments may include, but are not necessarily limited to, activities such as budget review, financial analysis, operations analysis, management and organization, systems and procedures, personnel selection, benefits administration, compensation and classification, substance abuse control programs, training and organizational development, equal opportunity program administration, employee relations and dispute resolution.
The Management Aide is a paraprofessional class that performs sub-journey level analytical work. It may also serve as a training class and provide opportunities to incumbents seeking promotion to higher-level classifications.
