Where You'll Make an Impact:
- Design & scale a game-like service supporting thousands of concurrent users per virtual space.
- Optimize performance across WebSockets, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Develop client-side SDKs that enable seamless interaction between front-end and back-end.
- Solve deep debugging challenges related to real-time collaboration and networking.
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar on engineering standards.
- Shape product direction by working closely with leadership on high-impact decisions.
What We're Looking For We hire exceptional engineers who thrive in fast-moving, scrappy environments. If you love owning projects, solving real-time performance problems, and working on cutting-edge distributed systems, you'll fit right in.
Must-Have Experience:
- 5+ years in real-time backends, game engines, or high-performance distributed systems.
- Deep knowledge of WebSockets, APIs, and networking performance.
- Expert in TypeScript & Node.js (or ability to ramp up quickly).
- Experience with Python or Go.
- Startup mindset: bias for action, ownership, and moving fast.
- Excellent communication & technical leadership skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience at Series A or early-stage startups.
- Background in graphics, rendering, or extensible platform architecture.
- Previous work at modern consumer-facing tech companies (e.g., Airtable, Asana, Patreon).
