Who we are

Promat's story began in Germany in 1958. The Brand name is derived from PROgressive MATerials. The company gradually expanded its market to all of Europe, and today Promat is part of the Etex Group which is present in over 40 countries. For more than 60 years, we have been designing, testing and manufacturing products and systems dedicated to Passive Fire Protection and high-end thermal insulation. This heritage of constant innovation has delivered Promat the status of premium brand within its category.

Promat now manufactures a complete portfolio of passive fire protection systems for structural protection, compartmentation and smoke extraction in buildings and structures. We also offer associated fire-stopping materials, intumescent paints and fire-resistant glass. Today, Promat has operations in Europe, South America and Asia Pacific, with 17 manufacturing plants worldwide. The company's main research and development laboratory is headquartered in Tisselt, Belgium, with other dedicated labs in France, Malaysia, Austria and UK.

With its long history of innovation and expertise in Passive Fire Protection systems, Promat continues to develop new, market-changing products aimed at enhancing safety, providing quality of life as well as peace of mind for both the owners and users of buildings.

• Key responsibilities specific to the role

Job Purpose/ Summary

• The Country Manager has full responsibility of the P&L, Sales, Margin & REBITDA for the country in collaboration with the local leadership team.
• Is responsible for developing a better understanding of the business drivers at the right level, understands the country needs, ensures best practices are shared and implemented taking input and inspiration from other businesses and best practices recommended by the Platforms.
• Is responsible for delivering short term results by increasing sales and operations efficiency and effectiveness in collaboration with the Plant Manager.
• Works hand in hand with the support functions on the objectives and priorities
• Creates clarity and reinforces priorities for the country.
• In collaboration with the platforms, develops an integrated country strategy and contributes to the global platform strategies.
• Contributes to the development of Etex (cross-regional, cross-divisional)
• Proposes M&A files and may lead some of them in agreement with the platforms.
• Creates the right environment for all team-mates to contribute their best.
• Ensures the country teams are functioning in the right way and having the right level of discussion. Challenges the local leadership team.

Working Experience

• Significant experience required from the thermal insulation, fire protection industry, or industry with similar go-to-market structure, including managerial, product, customer, and budgetary experience.
• Experienced with driving transformation and change of business model and working in a matrix organization across several cultures
• Extensive experience as a leader, leading cross functional teams and leading through other leaders.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. A genuine people manager, motivated by coaching her/his team, team player, leading by example. Shows the way.
• Strong analytical and core business skills incl. influencing, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Work experience in a multicultural environment and preferably a matrix organization.
• Advanced experience working with MS Office 365, Salesforce and PowerBI.

Strategic Management

• The Country Manager is responsible for delivering the Strategic review of the country and works in collaboration with the platforms and head of division to define and agree on the mid-term plans for the country.
• Ensures that the company's policies and strategies are aligned with marketing, sales, and customer requirements to realize business objectives and service levels.
• Translates long-term business strategy into actionable short-term business goals for the country and brands.

Business & Commercial Management

• Embraces the Etex Industry business models, believes in and drives the adoption of best practices (CRM, others...) as core business processes.
• Drives and embraces change and motivated by working in an agile environment
• Creates a Performance Driven organization with focus on talent development, leadership development, succession planning and making people grow in line with
• Etex values and Etex Leadership principles.
• Ensures open communication and alignment in the region. Creating a positive and constructive feedback culture in the region.
• Delivers on the short-term plans for the country.

Financial Management

• Proposes to the Head of Division (HoD) and heads of relevant platforms an annual target and a 3-year mid-term plan.
• Is responsible for the implementation of the agreed targets and business plans under the supervision of HoD.

People & Organization Development

• Manages and leads the country leadership team, within an organizational matrix structure, searching for alignment for business decisions and taking the final decisions in the absence of alignment. Makes everybody engaged and feeling proud of working for Etex.
• Builds and develops strong relationships with senior cross-functional leaders (Marketing, Operations, and Technical, Finance and HR) to successfully grow the business.

General Management

• Ensures compliance with local, regional and Etex policies and standards

Education

• Strongly prefer MBA with Bachelor's degree in related field.

Work Location

• 100% onsite in the Maryville, TN plant

$144,000 - $215,000 a year
