Mission

The Sales Engineer (SE) will work as a customer and partner-facing technology generalist, playing a key role in showcasing and explaining our product. The SE will take a consultative approach to advise companies searching for ITSM, ESM, and ITOM solutions and help them understand how the Xurrent platform brings value to their business. This is a hybrid role that requires three days in our office located in East Austin, TX.

Key Characteristics

As an SE, you will share the responsibility for sales targets. You will be knowledgeable in using the Xurrent solution in both the ITSM and the ITOM space. You will apply your technical understanding of Xurrent to enable the sales team, partners, and customers. Your role will primarily involve bringing prospects from discovery, to demo, to technical sign-off, to close.

You are skilled in communicating and presenting, are results driven and take a solution-first approach when faced with adversity and objection. You will deliver technical training and support the enablement of the sales team and Xurrent partners. The SE reports directly to the Sales Engineers Lead.

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement:
  • Participate in discovery & demo calls with prospects to understand pain points, and translate customer's challenges into solutions that can be solved by Xurrent
  • Strong understanding of Xurrent's competitive solutions and market; effectively able to address and dispel customer objections
  • Build strong relationships with prospective customers and partners
  • Conduct customer training sessions and workshops where required

Pre-sales:
  • Conducts software demonstrations to meet prospective customers' needs
  • Lead and respond to technical queries and RFI/RFP's
  • Provide support to the Sales teams to meet individual and team revenue targets
  • Work closely with internal products, services and sales teams to create and maintain high quality pre-sales material and ensure correct use of collateral
  • Define and lead the "proof of value" process, scoping of requirements and testing to prove Xurrent's value proposition

Technical Expertise:
  • Demonstrates deep understanding and expertise of all Xurrent solutions
  • Identify opportunities to develop innovative solutions in direct collaboration with Sales, Product, Development, and Customer Success teams
  • Architect and implement complex solutions, whilst simplifying technical language
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and frameworks

Partner enablement and support:
  • Support the enablement of (new) partners' sales and pre-sales teams
  • Answer any pre-sales and implementation questions the partner may have
  • Signal any issues around the quality of service provided by the partner

Requirements/Skills:
  • Proficiency in ITSM and ITOM
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS architecture and deployment
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Skilled presenter (story teller)
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Analytical mindset with a problem-solving orientation
