Description
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, performs a variety of complex and specialized activities involved in the collection, analysis, research, interpretation, and reporting of data related to institutional effectiveness, institutional planning, accreditation, program evaluation, grants, student achievement, equity, and other areas as required for external reporting and utilization by District employees for decision-making.

Responsibilities and Duties
Designs, plans, conducts, and reports on research studies which meet the information needs of the District. Utilizes appropriate quantitative and qualitative statistical procedures and sampling techniques. Develops and maintains queries using applicable programming languages, scripts, and tools to extract data for analysis. Provides the District and community with access to student enrollment and achievement data through the effective design, development, and maintenance of a variety of comprehensive and complex data visualizations and reports. Works closely with Information Technology staff to automate data dashboards and reports. Uses a variety of spreadsheet, database query tools, and software packages to retrieve, clean, tabulate, and statistically analyze large sets of data from multiple sources, including the systems comprised in the District's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, data warehouse, surveys, publicly available data sources, and studies or reports from state, local, and federal agencies. Designs and administers surveys using a variety of survey tools and online platforms in support of District plans, processes, grant-funded programs and initiatives. Analyzes survey data using appropriate techniques and statistical methodology. Develops and disseminates results reports. Prepares reports as required by the California Community College Chancellor's Of?ce, as well as local, state, and federal agencies, including college and programmatic accrediting agencies and reports required for grant and categorical funding. Supports college program evaluation efforts, including the development and implementation of program evaluation plans, ensuring alignment of planned program activities and services with program goals. Provides technical and analytical support in research-related activities for shared governance committees, departments, administrators, staff, and faculty. Responds accurately and timely to internal and external requests for institutional data and information. Serves as a resource to the college community to identify and meet research and information needs, including providing assistance with clarification of research questions and defining appropriate variables. Researches, tests, and evaluates software applications appropriate for use in support of institutional research, planning, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness. Presents data, research, and evaluation findings to internal and external audiences. Facilitates dialogue and inquiry processes for the effective interpretation of data and research findings in support of decision-making and planning processes for continuous improvement of programs, policies, practices, and systems. Regularly collects, maintains, indexes, and updates reports and reference material used for institutional research, planning, accreditation, and other District research requirements. May oversee and evaluate the work of student workers employed to assist in the institutional research effort and/or temporary employees or consultants employed to assist with speci?c research projects. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

Master's degree in from an accredited college or university in the social sciences, economics, education, mathematics, statistics, public administration, law or business administration with signi?cant coursework in research methods and statistical analysis; and one (1) year of responsible research, analysis, and report presentation experience, preferably in higher education.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the social sciences, economics, education, mathematics, statistics, public administration, business administration, or a related field, with signi?cant coursework in research methods and statistical analysis; and three (3) years of responsible research, analysis, and report presentation experience, preferably in higher education.
