Job Responsibilities:
The Department of Administrative Services (DAS), General Services Enterprise (GSE) is seeking an experienced manager to fill the position of Bureau Chief of the Design and Construction Resources Bureau.
This position provides construction project direction, oversight, and support on a statewide basis to State agencies, both on and off the Capitol Complex.
The individual will serve as a member of the GSE Leadership Team. This position provides direction to staff that are responsible for a variety of tasks, duties, special projects and responsibilities. This work includes, but is not limited to:

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and experience equal to six years of full-time management-level work in finance, human resources, engineering, law, social work, regulation, data processing, or program research or evaluation.
2) Ten years of full-time management-level work experience in finance, human resources, engineering, law, social work, regulation, data processing, or program research or evaluation.
3) All of the following (a and b):
a. Six years of full-time management-level work experience in finance, human resources, engineering, law, social work, regulation, data processing, or program research or evaluation; and
b. A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience. Graduation from the Iowa Certified Public Manager Program is also equivalent to one year of full-time experience or education.
4) All of the following (a, b, and c):
a. Four years of full-time management-level work experience in finance, human resources, engineering, law, social work, regulation, data processing, or program research or evaluation; and
b. A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience; and
c. A combination of a total of two years of graduate-level education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university course work in a public-service-related area (e.g., public or business administration, social work, law, education, engineering) equals one year of full-time experience. Graduation from the Iowa Certified Public Manager Program is also equivalent to one year of full-time experience or education.
5) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as a Public Service Manager 1 or comparable specific management-level position.

Job Responsibilities:
The Department of Administrative Services (DAS), General Services Enterprise (GSE) is seeking an experienced manager to fill the position of Bureau Chief of the Design and Construction Resources Bureau.
This position provides construction project direction, oversight, and support on a statewide basis to State agencies, both on and off the Capitol Complex.
The individual will serve as a member of the GSE Leadership Team. This position provides direction to staff that are responsible for a variety of tasks, duties, special projects and responsibilities. This work includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing staff leadership and supervision.
- Participating as an active and integral member of the GSE Leadership Team. The individual will ensure effective collaboration, coordination, and communication between and among GSE business units by working closely with the other managers and team members to promote information sharing and teamwork.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining effective and collaborative professional relationships with co-workers, business associates, leadership, customer agencies, union representatives, and vendors.
- The individual should have an understanding of performance reviews and plans, coaching and counseling, administrative handling of personnel issues, investigations and disciplinary actions and other administrative duties as assigned.
- The individual will be expected to use data analytics and technology to constantly look to improve or enhance the best practices already established within GSE to provide data and input to GSE management and leadership to aid in plans, policies and strategies to best utilize fiscal, personnel, and infrastructure resources under the onus of GSE.
