Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join our biology team. This role will focus on applying CRISPR and gene editing technologies to engineer cell models for target identification and mechanism-of-action studies. The successful candidate will be also responsible for developing and executing cellular assays, as well as conducting high-throughput in vitro drug screening. This position offers hands-on learning opportunities and close collaboration with our scientists on innovative early-stage drug discovery programs.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $122,000 to $153,000. The final salary will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.

Responsibilities
- Utilize CRISPR-Cas9 and base editing technologies to develop cell models for target identification and mechanism-of-action studies.
- Design, develop and validate functional assays to support new target initiation, hit identification and MOA studies.
- Execute in vitro assays for high-throughput screening of small molecule therapeutics generated from our drug discovery platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate assays into discovery pipelines.
- Document and maintain accurate records of assay protocols and experimental data.
- Interpret and present research findings to multidisciplinary project teams.
Qualifications
- PhD in biology, chemical biology, molecular biology or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in CRISPR-Cas9 and gene editing methods, with a preference for base editing experience
- Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, RT_PCR, Western blotting and cell culture.
- Hands-on research experience with in vitro drug screening and cell-based assays.
- Proficient in assay data analysis.
- Experience with the design and troubleshooting of in vitro assays.
- Experience with high-throughput small molecule drug screening is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
