The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Physician Supervisor (Associate Medical Director) position. This position can be headquartered at Columbia Correctional Institution, Redgranite Correctional Institution, or Taycheedah Correctional Institution.

Position Summary
The Physician Supervisor is responsible for professional medical services to PIOC (people in our care) in accordance with Department of Corrections and Bureau of Health Services policies, procedures and standards. The Physician Supervisor attends to the medical needs of inmates by diagnosing and treating illness and injuries and arranging for professional consultation when warranted.
The Physician Supervisor supervises, in conjunction with the Health Service Manager, the development and implementation of treatment protocols and patient flow charts. Along with the Health Services Manager, the Physician Supervisor meets with the Warden, psychological services supervisors, security staff, and/or Physician Supervisor in formulating medical policies, operational procedures. The Physician Supervisor also implements these policies at the unit level.
The Physician Supervisor participates in the BHS Quality Improvement Program and Infection Control Program. As directed, the Physician takes on-call assignments and provides direct care at other institutions during vacations, illness, and emergencies.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 50-51 with base pay starting from $94.93/hour - $118.66/hour.
Candidates in possession of a Physician Board Certification are eligible for add-on pay of up to $21.00/hour. This position is also eligible for additional add-on pay of up to $7.00/hour for assuming supervisory duties.
Pay rates on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.

Qualifications
Applicant must maintain a current license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin.
Applicant must maintain a current DEA number.
Applicant must maintain board certification in a primary care field.
Applicant must meet continuing medical education requirements for each biennium as established by the Department of Safety and Professional Services, Medical Examining Board.
