Position Summary:
This is a Microsoft SQL programming position with a primary responsibility for data quality assurance between district, state and federal information systems. This position also is responsible for the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of student data used to support statistical analysis and reporting. This role maintains accuracy and congruity of data cross reporting systems, helps ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and shares the responsibility of protecting the security of student and staff information.
This is not a data visualization position.

Position Summary:

Essential Duties:
- Develop, implement and maintain MS SQL processes for data management and warehousing
- Design, test and maintain MS SQL queries and reports in response to scheduled and ad-hoc requests
- Compile, review and validate complex student data for accuracy, consistency and completeness
- Extract data from various sources, transform/clean, and load to OKCPS student information systems
- Create, test, and verify SPSS programming syntax that generates data files for evaluation and research
- Identify root causes of data discrepancies or errors and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues
- Prepare district data files to fulfill reporting requirements for various state and federal education agencies and load district data to the appropriate reporting platforms
- Consult project staff and district administrators to maintain timelines and meet required deadlines
- Work with all departments, divisions, schools, and outside agencies to establish, maintain, and archive computerized data sources
- Provide technical assistance to other departments to identify and address data issues
- Ensure that data generated and shared with outside parties protects the rights of students, teachers and staff members

Job Specifications:

Education Requirements:
- MINIMUM: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, data science, business analytics, or related subjects
- PREFERRED: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, data science, business analytics or related subjects
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL programming and analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) AND SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Experience in designing, maintaining, and manipulating large scale, relational databases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (including Excel)
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize and track multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities)
- Experience with large-scale education databases
- Experience in PK-12 research and testing
- Proficiency with SPSS and SPSS Analytic Server
- Experience State of Oklahoma and Federal educational reporting
- Experience with Infinite Campus, EdPlan and EduSkills student data systems
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on a computer.
- Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and complete other required duties.
- Requires a normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
- Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
Work Environment:
- Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate-controlled environment.
- Will require time in office, as well as external meeting locations with community partners or schools throughout the OKC metro area.
- May require participation in meetings and activities outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
- May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
- Able to bend and stoop, lift 25lbs, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
