About The Opportunity

Working as an integral part of the newly formed restoration team in the Ta na wa Yuus ta Stityntsam (Rights and Title Departement) and reporting to the Habitat Restoration Manager and Natural Resources Manager, this position will be in charge of planning, implementing, and overseeing a variety of restoration projects in Squamish Territory. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical restoration projects, ensuring continuity and excellence in Squamish Nation's habitat conservation and restoration efforts. Key tasks include coordinating with relevant governments, NGOs, contractors, and consultants, conducting desktop research, grant writing, site assessments, planning and coordinating restoration implementation, monitoring, and reporting, working with Natural Resources staff to complete restoration activities, overseeing schedule, budget, and workplans related to restoration projects, and facilitating community engagement. To begin, the incumbent will work closely with the Habitat Restoration Manager and Natural Resources Manager to undertake the planning, implementation and monitoring of ongoing and upcoming restoration projects. The incumbent will also work to secure outside funding sources and contribute to workplans for additional restoration locations depending on which areas require the most ecological and/or cultural support. The incumbent must be organized and have strong interpersonal, technical, administrative, and leadership skills with exceptional time management and work well independently under minimal supervision. The position also requires a thorough understanding of restoration strategies and implementation, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Salary: $ 36.78 - $ 41.17 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program.
