MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree or above with emphasis in school administration preferred
  • Valid School Administration Certificate or meets state requirements of MCL 380.1246
  • Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience, with a valid Michigan teaching certificate
  • Minimum of three years of successful administrative experience in a school setting

  • Participate in and facilitate the school PLC, MTSS, and MICIP initiatives.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating characteristics of being approachable, personable, and accessible to staff and community
  • Implement and maintain a plan for positive public relations
  • Ability to problem solve, think critically, and employ strong conflict resolution skills
  • Provide leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating of curriculum and instructional programs
  • Lead and supervise the implementation of evidence-based instructional strategies for all, including, but not limited to, sub-group populations
  • Skilled at managing and maximizing the use of physical, monetary, and human resources through the management and preparation of budgets and systematic processes
  • Experience with facilitating the PLC process in a school setting
  • Oversee MTSS, PBIS, and Restorative Practices to maximize support for student's academic and social-emotional success
  • Demonstrated skill in achievement data analysis
  • Experience in school improvement planning
  • Recommend policy and procedures for school improvement and support of the district vision Monitor and evaluate staff, student, and program effectiveness
  • Provide leadership in the planning and supervision of extra and co-curricular activities
  • Participate in administrative and team meetings as directed
  • Ability to create an inclusive educational setting for all students
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months

EVALUATION: Annual

SALARY: $109,917-130,524 Commensurate with Experience in role
