DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Emergency Medical Services Program Specialist, you will process complaints and investigations while supporting legal processes. You will review and analyze reports and applications, make recommendations about rulings and decisions, prepare summaries of routine cases, and advise on general policies and practices. You will use familiarity with the Pennsylvania EMS Act, laws, and regulations to facilitate investigations, review applications for compliance, draft stipulation and settlement agreements, and track incoming allegations. In addition, you will develop policies and procedures that ensure emergency medical services programs are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires effective communication skills and an awareness of vulnerable populations to advocate for resources and methods that help those populations achieve health equity.

Develop procedures and policies based on interpretations of newly promulgated state and federal laws to ensure compliance of EMS systems, including categorization of facilities, patient transfer, drug control, etc. Analyze data and information to determine whether emergency medical services programs are in compliance with standards and regulations in accordance with federal, state and local laws and titles, e.g. Title 35. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to work in the office a few days per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

- Three years of professional experience planning, developing, evaluating or operating an emergency medical services programs, or providing EMS certified training or administering a college EMS training program; and an associate degree in health policy and administration, economics, statistics, public or business administration, emergency medicine, nursing or a related medical field; or
- Four years of professional experience planning, developing, evaluating or operating an emergency medical services program or providing EMS certified training or administering a college EMS training program; and 30 credits in health policy and administration, economics, statistics, public or business administration, emergency medicine, nursing or a related medical field.
