Position Description

U.S. Soccer is seeking an experienced video editor to lead a post-production team. The Sr. Manager, Post-Production will oversee all aspects of video editing, post-production process and content delivery.

This role will guide a team of editors crafting video to tell the story of soccer in all forms. This includes highlighting the Federation's work in service to soccer, our members (referees, coaches, member orgs, etc.) and ultimately the best of us - our athletes, from our Senior National Teams to Extended National Teams.

The Sr. Manager, Post-Production will work closely with the MNT, WNT and Federation video teams on different video projects, ranging from promotional videos to long-form videos, designed to deepen fan engagement, serve our members, grow reach, increase relevancy and drive revenue.

In addition to storytelling, will develop and execute video content to support the Federation's commercial efforts: growing Insiders, driving ticket sales, supporting kit launches, working with U.S. Soccer's partners, etc..

This role will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays when needed due to game schedules.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage post-production of video content across U.S. Soccer digital platforms, including producing, editing , color grading, audio mixing and final delivery of video content.
  • Produce, edit, and deliver quality visual stories of varying lengths and aspect ratios, optimized for platforms and audiences.
  • Ensure all video content aligns with U.S. Soccer's branding and creative, visual identity.
  • Establish and maintain post-production lifecycle for efficiency and maximum output, including from initial rough cut to final asset delivery.
  • Responsible for working across departments and collaborating with internal stakeholders to execute storytelling goals and objectives.
  • Assign projects to post-production team, managing short-term and long-term projects and meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Deliver content to different CMS for owned (web, app) and operated (YouTube) platforms, including encoding and formatting content to fit various distribution channels, and metadata tagging.
  • Manage and administer USSF video archive, developing and enforcing organizational best practices for storage and metadata, and ensure footage is properly organized and cataloged.
  • Maintain network systems, servers, and software necessary for post-production.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices in video production, and emerging technology to keep U.S. Soccer at the forefront of innovation.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in video editing, including experience producing.
  • Proven ability to execute a project from pre-production through post-production.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize both short and long-term projects.
  • Ability to focus and perform in fast-paced and high-pressure settings.
  • Understanding of industry trends and ways to engage an audience through video content.
  • Effective and quick decision making in a dynamic environment.
  • Expertise in editing software, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Strong understanding of video codecs, file formats and delivery specifications for digital and social platforms.
  • Experience with on-prem, cloud and hybrid media storage and file management solutions.
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • General knowledge of soccer.
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
  • Must be able to connect "micro" details to the "macro" vision and mission.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).


Desired Qualifications
  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Experience in news and media is a plus.
  • Familiarity with publishing in a CMS.
  • Knowledge of video best practices for platforms, specifically including social media platforms.
  • Understanding of AP style and soccer terminology.
