As the Lead Medical Provider at our Willows, CA, North Butte St Clinic you will provide out-patient medical services to assigned patients, as well as overall supervision to the other medical providers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Licensed California Physician (Board Certified in Family Practice preferred). Out-of -state license is accepted, but must be able to obtain California license within one year.
2. Two (2) years clinical experience in direct delivery of primary care.
3. Sensitive to Indian culture and health needs.
4. Current DEA registration.
5. Current CPR card.
6. Indian preference. Preference in filling vacancies is give to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, U.S. Code, Section 472 & 473). In other than the above, NVIH is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct medical services to patients of all ages
- Provide consultation for mid-level medical providers as needed.
- Provide assistance in establishment, review and revision of Medical Department protocols, policies and procedures.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining professional relationship with ancillary medical, laboratory and pharmaceutical services within the community.
- Evaluate patients with complex problems and refer to appropriate specialists if problem cannot be treated in-house.
- Work in conjunction with other Medical Clinic personnel in providing ongoing health education and information on preventative medicine.
- Maintains the standards of patient care and implements the policies and procedures of the Medical Department.
- Responsible for communicating problems identified involving personnel, medical staff, patients, families and the general public to the Clinic Manager.
- Administrative duties such as assist with approving paid time off for medical providers at designated site(s),be involved in recruiting efforts as appropriate, perform annual performance reviews of Medical providers at designated site(s) as assigned.
- Responsible for obtaining necessary continuing medical education credits. A significant portion of which should be specifically relevant to Indian Health issues.
- Keep medical license, DEA registration and CPR certification current.
- Other duties as assigned by Medical Director.
