Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Interim Controller to oversee financial management within the Facilities Services department. This role will be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the department, providing accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting budget development, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. The Interim Controller will collaborate closely with various teams and leadership to drive financial efficiency and support business objectives during a transitional period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight:

  • Manage all aspects of financial reporting for facilities services, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor and control the department's budget, ensuring expenses align with approved projections and financial targets.
  • Implement financial controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and best practices.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for facilities-related operations and projects.
  • Work with department heads to gather input and ensure financial goals are clearly defined and achievable.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide actionable insights to department leaders.
  • Financial Analysis:

  • Provide detailed financial analysis for operational and capital expenditures related to facilities management.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures and process improvements to optimize resource utilization.
  • Compliance & Audits:

  • Ensure financial practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal auditing standards.
  • Assist in coordinating internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting the audit process.
  • Prepare and manage reports for regulatory bodies, as required.
  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and facilities services operations.
  • Work with the team to implement best practices that enhance financial accuracy and operational effectiveness.
  • Drive initiatives that improve financial transparency and control.
  • Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor finance staff, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure effective communication of financial goals and priorities within the facilities services team.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership to support decision-making and resource allocation.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
    • CPA or equivalent certification (preferred).
    • 7+ years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
    • Experience in facilities services, real estate management, or construction finance is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing standards.
    • Proficiency in financial management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, etc.).
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders at all levels.
