Job Description

Manulife has a bold ambition - to be the most digital, customer-centric global company in our industry. The Global Strategic Initiatives team is lined up to build colleague engagement, business knowledge and drive global connectivity by delivering impactful colleague experiences to help Manulife achieve our bold ambition.

As Senior Creative Technical Producer, you'll draw upon your experience in delivering live, virtual and hybrid programs, have a plan for every contingency, and thrive in the wonderous world of live event production. This is a role where you'll be deep in the work of creating high impact and high profile live, virtual and hybrid experiences for our global colleagues - with the unique opportunity to work across business areas that will raise Manulife's brand identity, increase engagement and drive business impact while ensuring that the company's business goals are being met.

The role involves finding creative opportunities and leveraging technology to bring innovative ideas to life, to deliver purposeful experiences with strong narratives to engage and connect with our global colleagues.

Guided by your strong executional background and proven ability to deliver the highest standard of work, you will participate in creative brainstorms to generate ideas, and in the development of integrated, creative, innovative and operationally sound proposals for events. You will also have strong familiarity and comfort with technology, a desire to remain informed of current trends and improvements, and the ability to communicate highly technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

As the Senior Creative Technical Producer, you'll help make things happen by sitting between the creative, technical and operational processes in the planning of an event - orchestrating ideas, resources and people to turn the seed of an idea into reality by effectively communicating your vision to galvanize and inspire.

  • Provide guidance to peers and stakeholders on how best to engage audiences through technology and other creative tactics
  • Coordinate and lead project team meetings to ensure that production timelines and deliverables are met through project lifecycles
  • Source and manage partnerships with external vendors and ensure that services are delivered in line with the statement of work and budget
  • Manage and reconcile program budgets

What is expected of me?
  • University education, plus a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in event
production with an incredibly strong portfolio of delivered work
  • Experience of managing global corporate events (either from a corporate or agency perspective)
  • Push boundaries and challenge expectations with unique creative solutions
  • Strong program management, organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated production competencies: outcome oriented, customer focus, accountability for results, team effectiveness, attention to detail, flexibility, and professional confidence
  • Deadline driven with strong sense of accuracy and detail
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, be able to adapt quickly to change and a capacity to stay calm under pressure in fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated capability to write detailed creative proposals independently
  • Demonstrated understanding of event production, from design to implementation (including show calling and floor managing)
  • Experience in creative event production and planning, including working with external vendors, speakers, AV and technical production companies
  • Observant: ability to independently pick up cues and connect the dots to anticipate or trouble shoot
  • Comfortable working with C-level executives, and managing unforeseen circumstances and stressful situations, such as challenges/disruptions with technology during events
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to forecast outcomes in a changing environment, and respond accordingly
  • Exhibit initiative as a self-starter - highly motivated, striving for continual improvement in both personal skills and production quality
