Job Description
Job Title: Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator
Job Specialty: Trauma Services
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 07:00-16:00 or 08:00-17:00

Experience: Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a trauma-designated facility
License: Current RN licensure by the State of Texas or from a compact state if you declare the compact state your primary state of residence
Certifications: AHA or ARC Healthcare provider BLS and ACLS required; TNCC required within 12 months of hire/transfer; Complete the Society of Trauma Nurses Course TOPIC within 12 months of hire or transfer; ENPC preferred

- Leadership and communication skills suitable for coordinating an interdisciplinary program
- Ability to evaluate patient care within standard trauma clinical practice guidelines
- Competence in data collection, process evaluation, and implementing process changes
- Interpersonal skills for liaising among medical/nursing staff and community
- Ability to educate families and peers
- Capability to manage a stressful environment and multiple projects

Job Description:

- Collaborate closely with Trauma Program leadership to ensure compliance with state trauma statutes and standards related to trauma performance improvement
- Assist with the Trauma Performance Improvement Program, including data collection, analysis, trending, and benchmarking of data and outcomes
- Facilitate and coordinate injury prevention activities and programs for all ages
- Provide trauma-related educational programs to various hospital departments
- Support data collection for the Trauma Registry
- Contribute to enhancing the public perception of the hospital
- Perform additional tasks and activities as assigned

Work Environment:
- Approximately 75% indoors and 25% outside, educating the community about trauma prevention strategies and engaging with Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Must be flexible and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
- Intermittent movement throughout the day
- Occasional squatting or kneeling
- Frequent bending, reaching, or twisting
- Lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally and pushing or pulling up to 34 pounds occasionally
- Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues in accordance with bloodborne pathogen exposure plan
- Ability to meet growth and development needs for patients of all age categories
