Description:
We are looking for qualified candidates for the position of Mainframe (Cobol) Developer for a remote opportunity lasting 6+ month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand business requirements and lead Requirements Analysis and Design sessions
- Provide full development support including analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment
- Offer rotating on-call support for servicing mainframe applications
- Conduct meetings with business stakeholders to explain solutions and foster dialogue
- Contribute to manual and automated testing activities
- Resolve production incidents promptly
- Collaborate with interfacing application and infrastructure teams
- Knowledge of Agile and SCRUM frameworks is advantageous
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in mainframe technologies such as CICS, JCL, COBOL, SAS, Job trac Scheduler, ISPW, VSAM, and mainframe utilities
- Proficiency in Batch COBOL with IMS
- Minimum 5 years of database management experience with IMS, DB2, and advanced SQL skills
- Ability to analyze intricate programs, job schedules, and business logic within the mainframe domain
