Location: Hybrid - must be within commuting distance of San Juan Capistrano, CA.
Compensation: $80,000-$100,000.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team at AMFM Healthcare, a leading behavioral health organization. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This role is essential in supporting the financial health of our organization and ensuring our operations run smoothly.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 4+ years accounting experience in the healthcare industry. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Preferred credentials: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Experience in for-profit behavioral health organizations. Experience with data analytics, Power Business Intelligence (BI), Excel, or automation tools for financial reporting. Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a computer/keyboard, use electronic systems, communicate with others through written and verbal formats, ability to sit for long periods of time, listening, reading comprehension, lifting up to 10 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to use computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel), Quickbooks, NetSuite, G Suite products. Industry knowledge: Understanding of healthcare revenue recognition, insurance bill and reimbursements, and provider financial management. Analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a mission-driven healthcare environment. Excel at both written and verbal communications to convey essential information; must be able to utilize the proper linguistic syntax and spelling with the ability to communicate across departments. Knowledge of healthcare compliance, HIPAA, and financial reporting for medical organizations. Knowledge of Private Equity portfolio company financial operational management and reporting in healthcare. Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including telephones, computers, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, scanners, and shredders. Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology as it relates to the delivery of clinical care to the clients within our programs as required by our payers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements. Manage general ledger accounting, month-end, and year-end close processes. Reconcile bank accounts, ensuring accuracy with RCM billing and collections records. Work with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense management. Ensure compliance with GAAP, healthcare accounting standards, and tax regulations. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning. Support external audits, regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS, IRS, etc.), and financial reporting requirements. Maintain fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking. Collaborate with operations, clinical teams, and revenue cycle management to improve financial processes. Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives for efficiency.
