The Olympic College bookstore operates within the Student Affairs division, supporting the college's commitment to student success, affordability, and campus engagement. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of bookstore operations, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, and collaborating with faculty, student services, and auxiliary units. The Bookstore Director reports to the Vice President of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management and works closely with campus partners to provide accessible course materials, technology, supplies, and branded merchandise that enhance the student experience. This position does require occasional weekends and evenings to support events.

This is a full-time exempt position scheduled to work Monday through Friday and occasional weekends. The salary for this position is between $81,126 and $91,267 annually, which includes a generous benefits package that includes the following.

Essential Functions
- Oversee course material adoption and affordability initiatives, used book programs, rental options, and supporting instructional efforts to support Open Educational Resources (OER).
- Establish a robust merchandising strategy, offering high-quality branded apparel, accessories, and campus spirit gear while prioritizing sustainability, local products, and ethically sourced materials.
- Partner with local businesses and sustainable vendors to expand product offerings that align with environmental responsibility and community engagement.
- Prepare and manage financial reports, including monthly revenue and expense dashboards, tracking financial performance and ensuring alignment with bookstore sustainability goals.
- Regularly assess bookstore operations through student satisfaction surveys, sales trends, and financial reports to optimize offerings and services.

Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, and Competencies.
- Associate degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of management experience in retail, bookstore operations, or auxiliary services.
- Financial management experience, including budgeting, purchasing, and vendor negotiations.
- Experience in customer service, student development, and financial literacy education.
- Proficiency in retail management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred/Desired Education, Experience, and Competencies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with college bookstore operations, OER adoption, and student affordability programs.
- Background in merchandising, branding, and athletics partnerships.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 30 pounds.
- Extended periods of standing and walking in the bookstore.
- Work flexibility, including occasional evenings, weekends, and special bookstore events.
