Position Summary
Energetiq is seeking a Director of Engineering to join a dynamic and growing technology company. The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading a matrixed team of engineers and scientists to develop, launch, and support advanced Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) source products. This individual assumes program responsibility after the concept and feasibility phase, focusing on managing risk, budget, and schedule to deliver innovative solutions that meet marketing requirements or specific customer needs, including custom product development.
The Director employs a variety of tools to assess and mitigate risks, collaborating openly with their team and extended partners. They lead frequent design reviews to address challenges proactively, ensuring projects are executed with maximum efficiency and optimized costs. Additionally, they ensure that all designs, prototypes, and processes are accurately documented to support both in-house assembly and outsourcing when appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, the ability to marshal resources without direct reporting authority, and a talent for fostering a collaborative team environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction, quality, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a matrixed team of engineers and scientists in the development and launch of EUV source products.
- Assume responsibility for programs post-concept and feasibility, managing risks, budgets, and schedules.
- Utilize tools and methodologies to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
- Conduct regular design reviews to identify and resolve potential issues early in the development process.
- Direct development projects to achieve optimal speed and cost efficiency.
- Ensure thorough documentation of designs, prototypes, and processes for manufacturing and outsourcing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and marketing, to meet organizational and customer objectives.
- Build a strong, cohesive team culture focused on quality, innovation, and performance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in engineering.
- At least 5 years as an individual contributor in an engineering role.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing product development projects in the capital equipment industry.
- Designing and supporting pulsed power products.
- Vacuum system design, including pumps, valves, and pressure sensors.
- Designing, simulating, and optimizing passive and active cooling systems.
- Experience with PLC hardware and firmware.
