We are seeking a Numeracy Growth Coach to join our Wentworth campus (Grades JK -7). A Growth Coach's primary role is to support the professional growth of teachers to ensure that Collingwood continues to deliver an excellent academic program and with learning environments that support the school's strategic plan goals. This role builds a collaborative learning environment for educators and will provide personal support and feedback relating to teacher professional growth.

Growth coaches are experienced educators who use a variety of instructional methods in their classroom and know and understand how to apply best practices and current educational research to their lesson planning, design and delivery. Growth coaches love to learn, they actively pursue opportunities to take risks in their teaching practice and they enjoy sharing their learning with others.

This new role at Wentworth is a full-time position that will be responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modelling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. A priority for this role will be to fully support the development and implementation of the Kindergarten to Grade 5 Mathematics program at our Wentworth Campus. This is a Full Time Permanent position that will start on August 22, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Director of Teaching, Learning & Innovation, Director of Inclusive Education
  • Partner with teachers to support goal setting and manage the PGP process for each person on the growth team
  • Coach teachers to take risks in their teaching practice and incorporate new or different types of assessments or teaching strategies
  • Provide teachers feedback and guidance as they execute lessons and/or model lessons and support curricular and/or lesson planning
  • Support and develop the K-5 Mathematics program in collaboration with the Director of Teaching, Learning & Innovation, the Mathematics Academic Leader and teaching faculty
  • Create actionable steps and track progress throughout the year, adjusting according to feedback from colleagues, students and/or families
  • Actively engage in ongoing professional learning and stay current on trends in elementary numeracy
  • Lead workshops and professional learning experiences for colleagues and families


Required skills
  • Demonstrate and model a passion for transformational teaching and learning, and a commitment to the strategic priorities as outlined by the school.
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative manner
  • Experience with providing feedback or a willingness to upskill in this area
  • A willingness to assume a leadership role alongside your colleagues
  • Uphold professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Comprehensive understanding of BC Curriculum, specifically in area of mathematics
  • Understand current educational landscape in area of elementary numeracy

Required qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies of team leadership, learning agility and emotional intelligence
  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at or outside of Collingwood
  • Evidence of a commitment to professional learning in an academic domain (subject area, assessment, curriculum, etc.)
  • BC Teaching Certification
  • Basic First Aid
  • Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada

The current faculty grid annual salary range for this position is $73,845 to $109,969 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Masters will be paid at a higher range
