Newborn Screening Molecular Laboratory Supervisor(Chemist/Microbiologist IV)

Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in and supervise molecular and biochemical testing.
- Provide SOP training to staff.
- Evaluate quality control and correct any issues.
- Troubleshoot interfaces between laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems.
- Ensure instrument maintenance is completed.
- Monitor testing processes for accuracy and timeliness.
- Implement new molecular and biochemical assays ranging from method selection, validation, to the actual implementation in a high throughput laboratory.
- Support quality control, quality assurance, and daily reporting as well as monitoring of regulatory compliance.
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
- Must meet CLIA required qualifications
- Supervisory experience
- Molecular and/or biochemical clinical testing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Meets CLIA required qualifications
- Master's Degree or higher in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or other life science disciplines; OR equivalent experience
- Supervisory experience
- Molecular and/or biochemical clinical testing experience
Other Requirements:
- Due to the nature and types of testing samples this position requires compliance with the Utah Department of Health & Human Services Employee Immunization policy.
- Continued employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a fingerprinting background check.
Schedule:
- On site typically Monday - Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM
- Work on occasional weekends and holidays will be required, however is often remote.
