Job Description
Newborn Screening Molecular Laboratory Supervisor(Chemist/Microbiologist IV)
Are you CLIA qualified and have experience in molecular and/or biochemical clinical testing? If yes, come join us at the Utah Public Health Laboratory as a Newborn Screening Molecular Laboratory Supervisor!

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in and supervise molecular and biochemical testing.
• Provide SOP training to staff.
• Evaluate quality control and correct any issues.
• Troubleshoot interfaces between laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems.
• Ensure instrument maintenance is completed.
• Monitor testing processes for accuracy and timeliness.
• Implement new molecular and biochemical assays ranging from method selection, validation, to the actual implementation in a high throughput laboratory.
• Support quality control, quality assurance, and daily reporting as well as monitoring of regulatory compliance.

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

• Must meet CLIA required qualifications
• Supervisory experience
• Molecular and/or biochemical clinical testing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Meets CLIA required qualifications
• Master's Degree or higher in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or other life science disciplines; OR equivalent experience
• Supervisory experience
• Molecular and/or biochemical clinical testing experience

Other Requirements:

• Due to the nature and types of testing samples this position requires compliance with the Utah Department of Health & Human Services Employee Immunization policy.
• Continued employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a fingerprinting background check.

Schedule:

• On site typically Monday - Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM
• Work on occasional weekends and holidays will be required, however is often remote.
