Job Description
Job Title: Employee Health Nurse Manager
Job Specialty: Nursing and Occupational Health
Job Duration: Full-time

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience:
- Minimum of three years of nursing experience with knowledge of OSHA/Workers Compensation regulations preferred
- Background in Occupational Health required

License:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in Massachusetts required

Certifications:
- BLS healthcare provider required

Must-Have:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
- Master's Degree preferred
- Additional coursework in business, leadership, management, healthcare administration, or public health preferred

Job Description:

- Manage the day-to-day operations and responsibilities of the Employee Health Department
- Responsible for managing and evaluating the performance of the Employee Health staff
- Manage the Workers' Compensation Program to control costs and losses due to work-related injuries, and report employee injuries to the relevant committee
- Record and maintain the OSHA log, and report data annually
- Monitor and report all injuries involving bloodborne pathogen exposure related to a sharps injury, and report annually as required
- Manage and evaluate employees with work-related injuries, and communicate progress to their supervisor/manager
- Participate in regular meetings with relevant stakeholders to manage outstanding claims
- Coordinate and manage hospital-wide annual influenza vaccination programs, and track all related data for reporting purposes
- Responsible for planning and managing the department's budget
- Conduct pre-placement health screens, assess immunizations, and perform mask fit testing for all applicable hospital healthcare personnel
- Provide first aid to employees with work-related illnesses or injuries
- Engage in independent decision-making and clinical care within the scope of nursing knowledge and protocols of care
- Provide healthcare personnel with appropriate referrals to other providers or the Emergency Department
- Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality
- Monitor healthcare personnel for illnesses and exposures, communicating information as necessary to relevant parties
- Consult with physicians when findings warrant medical expertise beyond the scope of nursing knowledge or protocols
- Maintain files on all existing employees containing medical histories, physicals, results of evaluative procedures, and other health information
- Serve as an active member of various committees and provide statistical data related to employee health and safety
