Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
This position is funded by a six-year CDBG-DR grant from Housing and Urban Development and is subject to the
availability of those funds. Employment in this role is contingent upon the successful continuation of the grant. This
position is expected to last for the duration of the grant project, which is currently scheduled to end on May 31, 2031.
This classification performs a variety of duties in leading and overseeing the activities of County grants. The Grants Supervisor leads and oversees County grant operations, ensuring effective management of both pre-award and post-award processes. Responsibilities include coordinating grant proposal efforts, project management, compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and submission of required documentation. The role involves guiding and supporting grant teams, including grant writers, consultants, and administrators, throughout the grant lifecycle. Additionally, the Grants Supervisor ensures adherence to internal controls, conducts audits, and facilitates the successful acquisition, administration, and reporting of grant funding.
Working Conditions:
Typical indoor office environment. Sitting for long periods of time, working on computer. Lifting equipment or supplies up to 25 pounds alone and up to 50 pounds with assistance. Position requires visual acuity and depth perception, as well as ability to hear and identify sounds. Occasional high stress situations that may involve angry or frustrated citizens. Occasionally required to work other than normal business hours.

Grant Oversight & Compliance: Responsible for ensuring cooperation with federal, state, and local regulations related to grants.

Manage reporting, legal reviews, and adherence to grant guidelines.

Team Coordination & Supervision: Manage and coordinate grant staff and consultants to oversee grant-related activities across departments.

Managing Staff & Leadership: Supervise a team, provide guidance and training, delegate tasks, and ensure staff effectively carry out grant-related responsibilities.

Tracking & Monitoring: Maintain organized systems (such as grant tracking databases and calendars) to monitor deadlines, budgets, reports, audits, and compliance requirements.

Communication & Reporting: Be a strong communicator, to coordinate with all County departments, prepare reports, present grant-related items, and liaise with stakeholders, including funders and legal teams.

Task Management & Deadline Prioritization: Project Manage multiple assignments and ensure all grant deadlines and submission requirements are met.

Performs other related work (including weather or extreme emergency duties) as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Bachelor's degree in a field related to social science, environmental science, business, finance, English, project management, or public administration.

Five (5) years' experience in a position related to grants, project management, and/or local, state, and federal compliance

Experience with state and/or federal grant portals.

Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Valid driver license required, with valid Florida driver license required within 30 days of hire.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred two (2) years of previous supervisory experience.

Desired Certification in Grants or Project Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of principles and practices of local, state, and federal grant compliance.

Ability to perform research and analyze data.
