General Statement of Duties
The primary function of the student activities director is to supervise, coordinate, and support the 40-plus athletic programs and extracurricular student activities at the high school level. This includes managing the school's athletic budget, hiring and supervising coaches and sponsors, enforcing VHSL guidelines, and maintaining the school's sports equipment, athletic fields, and facilities.

The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Professional Expectations:
Minimum Qualifications
Post-graduate teaching license not required but preferred; experience as a secondary teacher preferred, some of which included coaching or directing non-athletic activities. Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with athletes, coaches, students, school administrators, staff, parents, and are community required.
Additional Information
This posting is for the 2025-26 SY with a projected July 15, 2025, contractual start date. The annual salary included in this posting is based on this current 2024/-25 school year's pay plan. The annual salary, for the will be determined once the 2025-2026 school year financial plan is approved and adopted in the Spring of 2025.
Compensation will be based on prior AD experience in private and public schools
Minimum annual starting salary: $80,808.25

Professional Expectations:
- Directs and oversees the planning, development, and implementation of student athletic and academic programs at the school-site.
- Assists coaches and sponsors in the planning and scheduling of sports and academic programs and events.
- Oversees the development and printing of student handbooks, programs, and schedules relative to student activities.
- Cooperates with the principal to organize and administer the school's overall sports and academic programs.
- Maintains a calendar of all student activities and building use.
- Maintains, manages, and oversees fund-raising activities; compiles fund-raising activities into an approved format to be forwarded to the building principal for approval.
- Supervises and participates in preparation for events, including preparation of facilities, securing of necessary temporary personnel (ex. concession workers, police, ticket sellers, light crews), preparation for crowd control, and arrangement for cleanup after events.
- Arranges for transportation for all student activities, including athletics; coordinates arrangements for lodging and meals as needed.
- Responsible for the review and approval of sports uniforms and athletic equipment in accordance with the district's financial policies and guidelines.
- Maintains and supports the up keep of the school's sports facilities, to include the fields, grounds, locker rooms, and equipment.
- Represents the school at regional and state VHSL meeting and conference.
- Supports and coordinates the school and community booster clubs.
- Maintains the academic eligibility list for student athletes and club/activity members
- Interviews and recommends candidates to the principal for coaching and club sponsor vacancies.
- Works with primary feeder middle schools to disseminate information and to coordinate the transition of students participating in extra-curricular activities from middle school to high school.
- Serves as a member of the School Safety Committee and makes recommendations related to safety issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the principal and district needs
