The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill two Deputy Warden positions. The location of these positions are out of Columbia Correctional Institution (Portage, WI, Columbia County) and Jackson Correctional Institution (Black River Falls, WI, Jackson County).
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Warden, the incumbent will develop, implement and administer the security, education, treatment, and support services programs for the assigned Correctional Institution. This position also supervises assigned key program staff in the areas of security, treatment and education; acts as the institution liaison to provide accurate information to legislators, government officials, other external individuals and organizations regarding Institution programs; implements the Affirmative Action/Civil Rights Compliance Plan (AA/CRC) plan in areas of responsibility; assumes duties of the Warden and performs other institution administrative duties as assigned.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 81-01 with an annual salary of $72238-$120910, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A 2-year Career Executive trial period is required.

- Working in a supervisory role (e.g., reviewing work of others, training/orienting new employees, assigning work of others, establishing operating procedures, etc.)
- Developing and implementing of facility programs (e.g. Health Services, Treatment, Education, Security, etc.)
- Developing departmental policies and procedures for a security setting.
In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:
- With management or leadership of day-to-day operations in a multi-disciplinary security setting (e.g., treatment, medical, education, food service, social services, business, facilities, security, or others).
- Working in a security or correctional setting.
