The Department of Surgery at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to join our breast surgery program. Faculty rank and financial compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials. Candidates should be board certified/eligible, a graduate of an SSO/ASBrS-approved breast surgery fellowship program, and eligible for an unrestricted State of North Carolina medical license.

The applicant's main clinical focus should include breast surgery with knowledge of management of benign and malignant breast disease including breast-conserving surgery, nipple and skin-sparing mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and axillary node dissection.

The successful candidate will participate in a multidisciplinary breast clinics and should be committed to excellence in quality care, patient safety, and recruitment of patients to clinical trials. A focused research effort related to the care of breast cancer patients is preferred. The candidate will actively participate in the education of general surgery residents, fellows, and medical students. Interest in clinical and translational research is also encouraged and supported by a robust infrastructure.

The breast service is an integral component of the Surgical Oncology Service and continues to successfully draw patients from throughout the region.

The Comprehensive Cancer Center has a team of over 400 physicians and researchers focused on preventing, detecting, treating, and surviving cancer.
