Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for material takeoffs, cost estimation, and procurement activities. A strong understanding of structural steel, flares, thermal oxidizers, and dust collectors is highly desirable. The role requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and proficiency in Microsoft Excel to analyze and manage data effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform material takeoffs from engineering drawings and specifications.
Develop accurate cost estimates for projects, considering labor, materials, and other relevant factors.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and lead times.
Assist in procurement activities, including identifying materials, generating purchase requisitions, and coordinating deliveries.
Work closely with engineering, project management, and fabrication teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements.
Utilize Excel and other estimation software to organize data, track costs, and generate reports.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials, and fabrication processes related to structural steel, flares, thermal oxidizers, and dust collectors.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project timelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong understanding of structural steel, flares, thermal oxidizers, and dust collectors is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
Experience with estimation software is a plus.
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
