Job Description
Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Job Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM, 12-Night Shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 48 Hours per Week
Experience: Minimum 2+ Years Required
License: License Required
Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS (Required for Adult RT)
- NRP (Required for NICU/PICU/Peds RT)
- PALS (Preferred for NICU/PICU/Peds RT)
Must-Have:
- Critical care experience including airway and ventilator management
- Experience in ABG puncture and analysis
- Experience with Non-invasive ventilation
- Code Blue and Rapid Response experience
- Inhaled medication administration
- Experience with Oscillator 3100, Sensormatic, and Drager ventilators is beneficial
- Proficiency in working with adult patients if assigned to NICU/PICU/Peds
- Familiarity with Servo U, Servo I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60, V30, EV300
Job Description:
- Support a variety of treatment areas: Adult ICUs, Cardiac Critical Care Unit, Emergency Department, Intermediate Care Unit, General Medical Floors, Level III NICU
- Engage in a very critical care focused and protocol-driven RT team environment
- Participate in patient care for common respiratory conditions such as COPD, CHF, Cystic Fibrosis, ARDS, and others
- Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans within the scope of practice
- Administer therapeutic treatments, medications, and interventions as prescribed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
- Use Cerner charting system for patient documentation
- Required to float to other units as trained
Additional Information:
- Shift Times: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM for days; 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM for nights
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- Voluntary on-call opportunities two hours before shift start time and two hours after
- Holiday and RTO requests managed through a manager
- Scrub Color: Any professional color or pattern
- Orientation includes one general orientation shift with RT Educator and one shift per each trained unit (generally 4-5 shifts)
