Senior Machine Learning Tech Lead

iLiv ai is a new startup launched by Jackson Dawson, delivering impactful SaaS solutions to help businesses unlock potential. This hybrid role is based in Dearborn, MI, requiring 2-3 days per week in the office. The ideal candidate will work with AI-native business, technology, and software developers to guide AI implementation strategies, build data pipelines, and actively explore new AI applications.

iLiv ai is seeking a Machine Learning Tech Lead to establish an AI-native engineering team. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and hands-on development to drive cutting-edge machine learning solutions.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Architect and implement robust machine learning pipelines
• Guide team on best practices for model selection and optimization
• Stay current with ML advancements and propose innovative solutions
• Review code and design documents for quality and maintainability

Project Management

• Collaborate with product managers to define ML objectives and timelines
• Lead project breakdown and task assignment
• Identify and mitigate potential risks

Team Development

• Mentor junior ML engineers
• Foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment

Hands-on Engineering

• Develop production-ready ML models
• Integrate models into existing applications and APIs
• Monitor and update model performance

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with ML focus
• 8+ years experience building and deploying ML models in production
• Expertise in Python and popular ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed computing
• Proven team leadership and mentoring ability

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for ML
• MLOps experience
• Familiarity with deep learning techniques
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
