Summary/Objective: The Accounting Manager - Operations will oversee the accounting operations of our multi-disciplinary general contracting company, which conducts business across multiple states in the southeast US. This pivotal role requires a dynamic, strategic leader who will be responsible for managing the full transaction flow of the organization and helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Essential Functions:
- Accounting Operations: Supervise the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and interfaces with operations systems.
- Financial Reporting: Involvement in timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls: Monitor and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate transaction flow and financial data.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including tax filings and audits.
- Strategic Planning: Partner with executive leadership to develop financial strategies that support the company's growth objectives.
- Financial Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and improve financial performance.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Systems: Lead continual advancement in use of technology to streamline processes and enhance the organization's competitiveness.
Competencies:
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance; experience with construction accounting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership and board members.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervising role. Construction/contracting industry preferred.
- Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Certifications: CPA, CMA, CCIFP designation preferred.
