Position Summary:
The Director of Finance and Operations reports to the Senior Executive Dean (SED) in the Office of Finance and Operations (OFO) at Roseman University College of Medicine (RUCOM). This role serves as a key financial and operational leader, overseeing budget administration, human resources activities, and compliance with policies and procedures across all RUCOM service areas. The Director is responsible for managing OFO staff, prioritizing tasks, evaluating performance, and ensuring smooth execution of recruitment, hiring, employee management, and financial operations. Additionally, the position facilitates performance reviews for faculty and staff, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.
The Director collaborates closely with RUCOM's various offices-Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Faculty Affairs-as well as central offices of Roseman University of Health Sciences (RUHS), including Business & Finance, Grants Administration, Human Resources, Facilities, and Risk Management. This role ensures effective financial oversight and operational efficiency while managing the daily functions of the OFO.

Essential Functions:
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and reconciliation, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.
- Manage purchasing and contract administration for RUCOM.
- Lead the annual budgeting and planning process in collaboration with the SED; monitor budget progress and provide regular financial updates to senior leadership.
- Analyze and present financial reports, including monthly and annual statements, project budgets, and grant accounting.
- Assess financial information, including budget variances, cost projections, and capital needs, to provide strategic recommendations.
- Facilitate and participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to address financial procedures, regulatory requirements, and organizational needs.
- Update and implement business policies, accounting practices, and procedural manuals to enhance efficiency and compliance
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years of management experience in finance or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred:
- Experience in university finance, budgeting, and auditing.
- Familiarity with organizational budgeting procedures and fiscal policies.
