Job Description

The project manager maintains 100-130 project schedules simultaneously while coordinating project requirements and priorities through working with various internal customers (quality, procurement, sales) across multiple locations as well as external customers (manufacturing, FAA). The project manager ensures development projects progress to achieve required objectives (timeliness, cost, customer expectations, etc.) They provide input regarding resource capacity, engineering capabilities, vendor selection, expected delivery dates to customers, and cost. Some data management and light ability to develop code in Excel or PowerBI is preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement project schedules, allocate resources, prioritize accordingly, and manage day-to-day project activities to maximize efficiency
  • Create action and follow-up plans to manage risk and prevent delays
  • Coordinate engineering support for manufacturing, procurement, quality, sales, customers, and FAA
  • Update and report project ECDs regularly to stakeholders
  • Coordinate with business development and sales on upcoming projects and engineering capacity
  • Coordinate with design engineering and procurement for vendor selection, PO issuance, and part tracking
  • Light oversight of design process including some understanding of GD&T, design process, and internal requirements
  • Light oversight of certification process including some understanding of FAA regulations, PMA submittal procedures, and internal package requirements
  • Manage data tracking tools and progress against metrics and KPIs
  • Identify opportunities to improve project objectives such as development timing, cost, quality, etc.
  • Reports to VP of Engineering


Experience and Skills

  • 3 years of relevant work experience (engineering, procurement, project management)
  • High level of detail, organization, and ability to motivate is critical for this position
  • Skilled in technical communication, collaboration, and building allies
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with aerospace, design, or reverse engineering processes preferred
  • Familiarity with Quantum, MS Power BI, FAA certification process preferred


Education

  • Bachelor's degree (engineering preferred)
  • Project management certification preferred
