Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Specialty: Rehabilitation Therapy - Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 8 Hour Days
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Experience: Minimum of 1 Year in Outpatient Physical Therapy
License: Physical Therapist Assistant License Required
Certifications: BLS/BCLS Certification Required (Accepted from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
Must-Have:
- Must be a team player and flexible
- Accustomed to a fast-paced environment
- Completed at least two 13-week travel assignments
- Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span
Job Description:
- Treat patients utilizing a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for the rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.
- Primarily manage outpatient orthopedic adult cases, including neuro outpatient and some pediatric orthopedic cases.
- Work closely and communicate regularly with Physical Therapists.
- Oversee and ensure a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and environmental well-being of patients.
- Promote patient and caregiver self-determination to achieve the highest level of independence.
- Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.
- Coordinate efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during the episode of care.
- Act as a patient advocate.
Additional Information:
- No weekends, holidays, or on-call required.
- There may be a need to float within the facility or to alternate locations within 20 miles.
- Orientation in the first week, not to exceed 40 hours, including EPIC training.
- No holiday time off will be approved for travelers.
