What it means to be Senior IT Manager
We get it, you want to know what you're signing up for before you apply, right? This is what you need to know. As a Senior IT Manager on the Redbrick Shared Services team, you'll be responsible for:
IT Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute an IT Infrastructure roadmap that supports Redbrick's business objectives and growth in a hybrid working environment.
- Drive efficiency and security by standardizing IT policies, tools, and processes.
- Provide recommendations for technology investments and operational improvements.
Operations & Systems Management
- Ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations, supporting both in-office and remote employees.
- Oversee networks, cloud services, end-user devices, and office IT infrastructure.
- Manage hardware/software procurement, onboarding, and service requests.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, escalating to vendors when necessary.
- Support IT onboarding and integration for new acquisitions, ensuring seamless alignment with Redbrick's systems and standards.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the IT Admin, helping them grow their expertise.
- Create a culture of accountability, security, and efficiency within IT, ensuring the team delivers high-quality support and solutions.
- Evaluate IT resource needs and recommend future staffing or outsourcing strategies as required.
- Promote professional development, enabling team members to thrive and stay ahead of industry trends.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures, including incident response and disaster recovery plans.
- Conduct security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with SOC 2, GDPR, and other IT governance frameworks.
- Provide training and awareness programs to ensure all employees understand their roles in maintaining security.
Project & Vendor Management
- Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and software rollouts, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Manage IT vendor and contract management, ensuring cost-effective, high-performance partnerships for security, cloud services, and IT infrastructure.
- Oversee IT budgets, balancing cost management with the need for strategic investments.
After 1 week:
- Introductions to Redbrick's company culture, mission, values and IT environment.
- Receive all necessary equipment, access credentials, and tools.
- Meet with key stakeholders across Redbrick to understand their IT needs.
- Review Redbrick's current IT infrastructure, systems, and policies.
- Shadow existing IT Admin to understand day-to-day operations and immediate challenges.
- Review ongoing IT projects and assess current workflows and tools.
After 1 month:
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of Redbrick's IT infrastructure, security posture, and operational workflows.
- Familiarize yourself with key systems (e.g., Google Workspace, AWS, Cloudflare) and review IT service delivery processes.
- Identify and prioritize immediate gaps or inefficiencies in IT support, security, and operations.
- Review vendor contracts, IT budgets, and existing service agreements.
- Participate in IT leadership discussions and provide input on active projects.
- A high-level report outlining initial findings from the IT audit, including key strengths, gaps, and risks.
- Develop a short-term action plan to enhance IT support and security.
After 6 months:
- Develop and present a company-wide IT strategy aligned with Redbrick's growth goals.
- Establish standardized IT policies and processes for Redbrick.
- Start implementing improvements to cybersecurity measures, system performance, and IT support workflows.
- Build a roadmap for IT integration of any newly acquired portfolio companies.
- Begin mentoring IT team members, setting individual goals, and fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Conduct quarterly reviews with leadership teams from portfolio companies to assess progress and adjust strategies.
- Lead major IT initiatives, such as system migrations, infrastructure upgrades, or cloud optimization projects.
- Evaluate IT team performance and make recommendations for hiring, training, or restructuring as needed.
- Establish IT and Information Security governance frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance across all entities.
- Strengthen vendor relationships and renegotiate contracts where applicable to improve cost efficiency.
Deliverables by End of Month 6:
- Fully implemented IT strategy with measurable outcomes.
- Documented and standardized IT policies and processes across all entities.
- A functional roadmap for future IT projects and scalability efforts.
- Improved IT performance metrics, such as reduced downtime, faster support resolution times, and enhanced security compliance.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of IT experience, and experience in a leadership role managing teams and budgets.
- Proven track record of leading IT in a multi-entity organization or a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Deep expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems (e.g., Google Workspace, cloud platforms).
- Strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
- Experience managing vendors, contracts, and IT budgets to optimize costs and performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with M&A IT integration and onboarding acquired companies.
- Familiarity with supporting SaaS businesses or technology companies.
