Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Post Operative Care, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4x9-hour shifts, 1200-2130 Mon-Fri, off every Thursday. No call.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years
License: Required to submit
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Must-Have:
- Experience traveling and caring for both children and adults
- Experience from large hospitals with at least 2 years in PACU
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience with Epic
Job Description:
- Unit consists of 31 beds covering both Phase I and Phase II recovery areas.
- Recovery areas include children's recovery for inpatient and outpatient, and main recovery for adult inpatients and outpatient.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 based on ASPAN standards.
- Common cases include all surgical specialties, particularly total joints, neuro, cardiac, pediatrics, ENT, and others except open-heart surgeries.
- Charge nurses are rarely required to take patient assignments.
- CNA staff of 8 provides support with transport, mobility assessments, IV removal, and more.
- Possibility to cover all three recovery areas in the same shift.
- Minimal floating required, with a potential to float to Preoperative Care.
- Scrub color: Blue scrubs supplied.
- Scheduled orientation generally includes 3 days to cover all recovery areas.
