Perform electrical engineering and instrumentation and control system analyses, designs, and calculations. Take a lead position in the preparation, performance, and on-time and on schedule completion of project work. Provide complete task-based estimates for work to be accomplished. Document and report findings in a clear and concise manner for proposal, project, and Department use. Plan, lead, and participate in project and client meetings.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical engineering and instrumentation and control system analyses, design, and calculations.
  • Develop P&IDs, process equipment skid designs, calculations, spreadsheet programs, Engineering Standards, and advanced analysis tools in support of projects
  • Provide complete and accurate labor hour and materials estimates for projects, including development of new and/or improved products
  • Participate in project team and client meetings, as needed
  • Monitor the work product of vendors, including schedule, budget, scope requirements, technical review and deliverables, and manage deviations using Company Deviation Management System
  • Identify/develop and use tools and techniques that improve the accuracy and/or efficiency of Department and project work
  • Follow all Company and Department ISO Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Evaluate previous methodology and results to establish Lessons Learned, design factors, comparative values, and modify or develop engineering tools, procedures and Standards
  • Partner with the project management team and the project team, customers and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Plan, specify, design and oversee the engineering of electrical systems, and departmental deliverables for proposals and project qualifications

Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or other applicable Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years' applicable experience in control systems and electrical systems design and start up, and application in an industrial plant environment,
  • Knowledge of best practices in applying NFPA / NEC, UL, IEEE, ISA, IEC and other electrical codes and standards applicable to controls and electrical system design and installation
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and computer skills including proficiency in use of Word, Excel, and databases
  • Must be organized and able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly to requests
