General Purpose
Provides strategic and tactical leadership to ensure assigned portfolio of technical education programs meets the needs of students, employers, and industry partners while aligning with the college's strategic goals. Oversees all aspects of assigned technical education programs, including faculty management, budgeting, scheduling, instructions, and resource allocation for training. Leads the evaluation, planning, development, and implementation of assigned programs. Contributes to the development and oversight of industry, state agency, and academic partnerships.
Job Focus
Provides strategic leadership and direction in planning, developing, and implementing program initiatives that will improve program performance and align with industry needs, support and develop strategic partnerships, and ensure alignment with the institutional mission and strategic goals. Responsible for strengthening team dynamics by implementing a collaborative approach to program development and student success. Employs innovative approaches to program development and growth in collaboration with the Advisory Committees of local business leaders in the technology field. Objectively evaluates data and identifies data-driven insights and factors to drive optimal program growth and program decisions. Ensures faculty and staff are using data software and other data to monitor program performance to contribute to the goals of the institution. Develops, promotes, and represents assigned programs to industry, community, and secondary and post-secondary academic partners, including developing new programs, updating existing programs, and ensuring that all programs meet accreditation standards. Provides day-to-day supervision of faculty, defining expectations, ensuring appropriate training, establishing goals, supporting faculty development, conducting evaluations, addressing performance concerns, and celebrating accomplishments. Communicates collaboratively with the leadership team, faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders to develop relationships and meet their needs. Facilitates team meetings and training to ensure programmatic and institutional compliance. Builds productive, responsive, high-performing faculty teams and lead faculty. Recommends personnel actions to the Associate Vice President of Instruction. Oversees program level staffing, scheduling, resource acquisition, and facilities-related projects to support student success. Teaches classes as needed for daytime or nighttime apprenticeship students ensuring instructional quality and alignment with program goals. Oversees the SkillsUSA competitions on campus and coordinates with faculty and staff to support student participation and success. Oversees summer programs applicable to construction, ensuring full-time faculty remain actively engaged in teaching during the summer months. Oversees hiring, training, and evaluating faculty and staff, allocation of resources, and facilities-related projects. Oversees modern, professional presentation, organization, and safety of instructional facilities. Supports, promotes, and participates in college events. Assures accreditation and regulatory compliance in areas of assigned responsibility. Develops and demonstrates responsible justification and expenditure of program budgets. Manages and allocates resources effectively to ensure that programs meet their goals and objectives and are managed within their budget. Develops professional business documents, including contracts, plans, and reports. Coordinates with other college departments to promote and meet program needs. Performs as an educational leader in the institution and community. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master level licensure in a related discipline, i.e., Master Electrician or Master Plumber.
- Experience teaching or training in apprenticeship programs or related fields, or education administration.
- Five (5) years of experience in construction trades.
- Four (4) years of management or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of the Utah Department of Professional Licensing apprenticeship requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
- Experience developing and managing curriculum.
