Position Overview:
ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Finance team on a temporary basis for a maternity leave coverage. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller serves as one of the financial leaders of the company, monitoring its financial health and structure daily. This includes preparing financial statements, maintaining inventory spreadsheets, and processing payments. Additionally, the job holder will provide support to the rest of the financial team.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) and will be a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC location.
We are offering a wage range of $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience.

Position Overview:

Responsibilities:
- Preparation of month end inventory reconciliation
- Reconciliation of month end intercompany accounts (Loans / AR / AP).
- Reconciliation of related party transactions and associated eliminating entries.
- Preparation of monthly financial packages for all operating entities in Canada and US.
- Generates and reviews financial statements for Corporate Controller and sends to general managers for approval
- Liaise with general managers on financial statement queries.
- Prepares consolidated financial statements for ABC Group and US Operations.
- Prepares weekly and monthly reporting along with any ad hoc reports requested from Operation or Executives
- Reviews revenue accruals and reconciliations.
- Reviews tax filings (GST and PST)
- Oversee Accounts Payable in conjunction with the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
- Provide support to senior accountant when needed
- Sage administration and management (maintain user authorizations and profiles, create new GL accounts, open and close fiscal periods, perform period and year end processing/revaluations, up, upload annual budgets, and troubleshooting)
- Provides any ad hoc reports/ information requested by the Operational Controller / Director of Finance or any other executives.
- Reviews revenue accruals/ reconciliations.
- Reviews tax filings (GST and PST) ensuring deadlines are met.
- Ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting/finance, CPA designation with minimum 2 years' experience as an Assistant Controller
- Experience leading a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills,
- Solid understanding of ASPE
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Proficient in MS Office, experience with accounting programs, Sage 300 an asset.
