Reporting to the Director of Investment Management, the Senior Analyst will be a key player within the Investment Management (IM) team, empowered to take an active role in sourcing, closing, and managing high-impact development and income-focused properties, as well as exciting acquisition opportunities tied to the company's Development Management (DM) and Asset Management (AM) activities.

This role calls for a sharp analytical mindset, exceptional critical thinking, and advanced financial modeling skills. A strong understanding of real estate fundamentals across various property types, combined with in-depth knowledge of the investment management and transaction processes, will empower the Senior Analyst to make a significant impact. You'll be actively involved in every stage of the investment cycle, supporting the growth and success of our DM and AM businesses.

What you'll be doing:
  • Responsible for prospective and existing investments throughout the investment life cycle as a trusted strategic finance business partner and project finance expert on matters related to financial modelling, financial analysis and capital markets
  • Partner and collaborate with the combined DM and AM teams and with colleagues involved in the Fund Management (FM) and other activities both within CBP Capital and across the company
  • Conduct research and analysis to build asset theses for attractive acquisition opportunities in targeted markets
  • Prepare business cases on acquisition opportunities that summarize the acquisition, including the asset thesis, underwriting (projected cash flows, capital structure and return metrics) and the implementation plan for successful execution
  • In collaboration with the DM team, create, monitor and update development proformas as required
  • Conceptualize, determine, and effectively communicate the potential impact of business decisions on the financial performance of investments
  • Responsible for all financial and proforma analysis including sensitivity analysis


Keys to success in this role are:
  • 5+ years of experience in a Senior Analyst role within the real estate and/or real estate finance industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, with a focus on Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated self-starter, with a strong passion for learning, innovating, and improving the quality of work and for taking responsibility to achieve targeted outcomes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with expert-level capabilities
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as SQL and business intelligence tools like Power BI, or a strong eagerness to develop these skills, are highly valued
  • Experience with ARGUS Enterprise is a plus
  • Solid understanding of real estate documentation, including purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, financial statements, management agreements, leases, mortgages, and more
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Thrives under pressure and works efficiently within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment to deliver exceptional results
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a natural aptitude for analyzing financial models and presenting complex information to both management and investors in a clear and compelling way
