Job Description

The Director of Workforce Wellness reflects the mission, vision, and values of NYC Health + Hospitals, Quality + Safety Division and the Workforce Wellness Department. The director adheres to the organization's relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Reporting to the System Chief Wellness Officer, the Director of Workforce Wellness is responsible for the effective identification, implementation, and communication of well-being initiatives across system.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages assigned system-wide wellbeing programs initiatives
  • Manages expansion of existing well-being programs with a focus on equity across discipline, department, and tour - among other social demographics.
  • Facilitate the strategy and process to launch new programs based on the 8 Dimensions of Well-being across the system.
  • Provides and manages processes to measure and assess well-being, and provides relevant and actionable data on these domains to leaders.
  • Liaises with facility/service line leadership to promote the significance of wellness.
  • Develops and executes internal communication plans for well-being programs.
  • Partners with different departments to achieve various wellness outcomes.
  • Maintains the budget for the Workforce Wellness department.
  • Works closely with other system support functional leads and creates work plans that include training and development activities for clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Manages relationships with key internal departments, partnerships with external vendors and stakeholders, and monitors the confidentiality, quality and accuracy of data shared/collected.
  • Works closely with key stakeholders at the facility/service line-level to design, test, and implement well-being initiatives and projects.
  • Works with operational and clinical managers and leadership, defining projects, and meeting workforce well-being goals and organizational strategic objectives.
  • Works closely with operational staff and managers to assure successful transition to implementation of approved initiatives. Responsible for meeting goals in a timely and effective manner.
  • Held accountable through performance goals, plans, and other monitoring systems.
  • Works to identify financial opportunities to support well-being programming via grants, philanthropic outreach, etc.
  • Contiguously delivers on strategic plans that have been approved for the system.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by their superior.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public, Hospital or Business
    Administration, Health Care Specialization, Engineering, Social Services or a related discipline; and four (4)
    years of progressively responsible experience relating to health care program planning, research, design,
    operations, evaluation and analysis, one (1) year of which must have been in supervision or planning and/or
    analysis; or
  • A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in #1 above; and five
    (5) years of progressively, responsible experience relating to health care program planning, research, design,
    operations, evaluation and analysis, one (1) year of which must have been in supervision or planning and/or
    analysis; or
  • A satisfactorily equivalent combination of education and experience, in which 30 graduate-level semester
    credits from an accredited college or university can be substituted for one year of experience. However, all
    applicants must have at least a Bachelor's Degree.


  • Department Preferences

    • 2+ years of project or program management experience working within an integrated health system, health plan, patient safety organization, or population health organization is strongly preferred.
    • Experience with project management
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
    • Creative problem-solving skills
    • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines
