Responsibilities - Donors & Development
- Under the direction of the Foundation Executive Director, develop and manage an overall donor engagement/development plan
- Develop strategic goals for individual and organizational giving
- Responsible for identifying, cultivating, and stewarding new donors, including individuals, corporations and foundations.
- Create and maintain a portfolio of current and potential donors who give up to $10,000/year
- Assist Executive Director in preparing for any large donor gift opportunities
- Develop specific goals for donor-level commitments each year, aligning these donor goals with the overall foundation strategic plan.
- Create and manage systems and technology to communicate and engage with donors.
- Develop and design various targeted communication streams to engage donors: social media, email campaigns, phone appeals, and personal touchpoints 1:1
- As part of the Foundation team, develop and execute various donor in-person events: personal meetings, small gatherings, and galas.
- Strategically engage donors in their philanthropic interests, in various industries, and desired communication formats.
- Report to Foundation Board of Directors and the Development Committee. on development activities and KPIs leading to strategic goals
- Engage and manage all donor relations for scholarship donors, including letters of acknowledgment, website listings, and student engagement.
- Represent the foundation in the community, attending events and seeking opportunities for speaking at events that will help facilitate and encourage new donor engagement.
Responsibilities - Alumni
- Develop and manage an overall alumni engagement plan and strategic approach to alumni engagement.
- Establish the Alumni Association, its branding, website, and any collateral support materials for the purposes of communication and engagement
- Develop and design various targeted communication streams to engage alumni: social media, email campaigns, phone appeals, and personal touchpoints 1:1
- As part of the Foundation team, develop and execute various alumni in-person events: personal meetings, small gatherings, and galas.
- Strategically engage alumni in their interests, industry, and desired communication formats.
- Develop specific goals for donor-level commitments each year, aligning these alumni donor goals with the overall foundation strategic plan.
- Together with the Executive Director, maintain a regular schedule of community events or speaking engagements that will help facilitate and encourage alumni engagement.
Responsibilities - Supervisory
- Supervise work-study students
- Manage hiring, create job listings, approve timesheets, create schedules, assign projects
- Attend work study supervisor trainings throughout the year
- Supervise Development Assistant

- Develop plan for professional development, providing feedback on a regular basis, as well as an annual review in conjunction with the Executive Director.

- Create volunteer pathways for alumni, staff, and donors

- Work with Foundation staff to manage volunteers
Responsibilities - Administrative
- Manage daily office operations, including but not limited to:
- Board meetings, policy creation and documents, and any Board support activities: slide deck, agendas, day-of logistics, etc.
- Support all administrative functions when Development Assistant or work study students are not available
Responsibilities - Communications
- Develop and manage all Foundation communications, including but not limited to:
- Design regular e-newsletters sent to all constituents and various subsets within our database
- Create and curate all copy and content for foundation communications
- Work with Creative Services to create collateral materials, flyers, logos, and any other printed and electronic pieces that support communications, events, and donor, alumni, staff, and student engagement.
- Ensure that information on the Foundation website is up-to-date.
- Design and post all social media campaigns and appeals, keeping all channels current
- Monitor performance of electronic communications and social channels, utilizing analytics to adjust and update audience, times, messaging, etc.
Responsibilities - Scholarships & Grants
- Manage and track all scholarships:
- Coordinate with Financial Aid to review and approve awards and distributions
- Track students, thank donors, and provide student engagement opportunities
- Identify and solicit new scholarship donors and steward current scholarship donor pool through touch points, events, and engagement opportunities.
- Provide regular reporting to Executive Director on status of spend and budget, donors, and any new or potential scholarship donors.
- Track and properly report out to COSI and system office
- Manage and track all grant awards:
- Attend any meetings with CCD stakeholders, grants director, and others about status of grants
- Provide regular reports to Executive Director on status of grants
- Assist with donor grant reporting
Responsibilities - Events/Appeals/Fundraising
- Oversee event operations and ensure seamless execution of all Foundation events, providing oversight of the team process:
- Work with Executive Director on strategic planning for events, including fundraising, communications, and execution
- Create a planning/development calendar that includes events and fundraisers
- Provide oversight for logistics and event planning
- Manage work studies and their jobs/projects for the event
- Create/design event communications
- Work with other departments and staff to develop and execute institutional events for the community and our current/future partners and donors.
- Develop and execute plans for fundraising appeals throughout the year, including goals, strategies, communications, and tactical details, including:
- End of Year Giving Appeal
- CO Gives Day Appeal
- CCD Day of Giving
- Employee Giving
Responsibilities - College
- Currently serving as Team Lead for Microgrants in the multi-year Moonshot for Equity Initiative
- Other duties or leadership responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum five years of development experience in a non-profit or charitable organization, including:
- Experience creating and executing development plans and strategies
- Experience in donor identification, cultivation, and stewardship
- Experience with non-profit donor/constituent donor database software
- Prior management and supervisory experience, including
- Development support staff
- Volunteers, including external board members and event support volunteers
- Prior experience in developing and managing small and large donor events
- Experience in communications and marketing mediums, social media mediums, and other donor-targeted communications
- Proven experience in external community engagement, including public speaking.
- Bachelors degree
- Preference for an advanced degree, Masters degree, and/or fundraising certifications
- Preference for additional professional development education in fundraising-related skills, non-profit management, and governance.
