Account Manager Industrial Chemical Sales

POSITION SUMMARY:
Since 1975 Freiborne has been developing premium chemistry solutions to form, pretreat, and protect metal. We are looking for a chemical sales professional to join our team for a growth-oriented position covering Michigan, Ohio, Eastern Ontario, and TBD. This territory is uniquely positioned to leverage local HQ resources to drive sales and retain customers.
The Account Manager is responsible for growing the company's presence, relationships, and sales in metal forming, paint pretreatment, process cleaning, and associated markets. This position will manage a base of critical key accounts but is focused on GROWTH by building a pipeline of short, medium, and long-term targets. The ideal candidate will thrive on prospecting and closing business and can demonstrate a history of doing so.
This position requires successful experience in industrial sales, preferably chemical related utilizing value-added selling in mature markets. This role is flexibly based, either out of our Pontiac, MI headquarters or remotely from a home office (SE Michigan or Northwest Ohio).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Increase sales and contribution margin through market share gain and account retention.
- Learn and execute the Freiborne Selling Process driving new account closure.
- Provide unsurpassed customer service through on-site commercial and technical support.
- Pipeline build by professionally prospecting for new business opportunities.
- Leverage local technical support to increase selling opportunities and account retention.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree, sciences preferred.
- 5+ years of industrial sales experience; chemicals, coatings, lubricants, or related markets preferred.
- Demonstrated experience selling past price using value-added solutions.
- Proven sales effectiveness demonstrated by strong prospecting and closing success.
- Initiative-taking, driven, engaged, enthusiastic, team-player.
- Strong consultation, negotiation, problem-resolution, and people skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Up to 40% travel.
